Welcome to Jot to Jot, please come on in and have a look around.
Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Donna and I am thirty two year old Primary School teacher from South-East London.
Although not a newbie anymore, my time blogging is still rather short compared to many.
Completely self-taught with only the internet, random strangers and some books to help me, I am slowly beginning to carve my blogging path.
I believe you have some questions to ask me?
Sure, go right ahead.
What is your blog about?
Well, initially I started out by reviewing things, places and experiences. As much as I still love doing this, I have branched out ever so slightly, incorporating ‘daily life’ happenings along the way.
I’ve always said if I love it, you’ll find it on here and that remains true.
Why should I read your blog?
I believe that my posts are varied, interesting and accompanied by half decent photographs*.
My writing is open and honest, with views and opinions that are entirely my own.
That said, first and foremost I write because I want to write. I don’t necessarily claim to be an expert at it, but to have the freedom to write about things that I enjoy and feel passionate about is incredibly important, and I feel lucky to be able to do so.
If you are someone that happens to enjoy what I write, then that’s a bonus too!
It’s also a great form of therapy!
*Photos may of course come from other sources if not directly my own.
What do you get out of blogging?
I get to have my own little space in the blogosphere of the World Wide Web, which I think is incredibly cool.
With regards to blogging in general I feel like I was a very late starter, and not entirely sure why I hadn’t done it sooner. But here I am now, loving every minute of it.
I love being in charge of what I write, how I present it and just having a “voice” to put things out there.
I am also learning lots about media and technology, which is constantly evolving and something ultimately that I want to be a part of.
Well, until I go blind and my joints cease up with arthritis!
Tell me a bit about you personally.
I am a creative thinker, and a huge Disney lover.
I have the ability to see the world creatively and there’s probably the smallest blob of logic located somewhere in my body.
I speak first and think about it afterwards.
I have a degree in Multimedia Technology & Design and loved learning about the History of Language.
I have been a Primary School teacher for just over eight years and have a reputation for being a very strict teacher.
I am a gadget geek and love the finer things in life.
I am happily married to my wonderful husband Sam, who is a F1 buff and statistician. He is also a teacher, which is how we met.
On a final note…
On a final note, you may have noticed an extra name on the top menu bar, which leads you to ‘Sam’s Corner’. Sam recently got into parkrunning, and is enjoying being involved helping write run reports. Sam has got the ability and wit to write in ways that many people can only hope to achieve. It may come across as biase, but the way in which he writes impressed me way before we were even an item! I have encouraged him to start his own blog, but as that is rather a big and daunting deal for him, he is happy to be the main guest writer on Jot to Jot from time to time.
That’s about it from me but if you fancy finding out more then follow this link to get to know me in 25 questions.
It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope you enjoy your visit.
