Sleep. Sleeping. Dozing. Napping. Resting. Zzzzing. Snoring. Snoozing.
Whatever you call it, one thing is absolutely certain.
I am not getting enough of it!
And for someone who can easily sleep through twelve to thirteen hours without even waking once, this is most unwelcome.
I know I am not the only one, and nor will I be the last to suffer the perils of sleep deprivation but it is something that can really get you down. My main reasons for such tiredness is the fact that I am 31 weeks pregnant, and have been trying to fight off a horrendous cold and chest infection. Breathing during the night has become a next to impossible task.
Shove that in with the need to pee, coughing and clearing my throat and forever trying to get comfortable with bump, and well, there you have it.
Normally, one bad night is enough to ensure the next is back to normal.
Not this time.
Now there is plenty of advice out there on how to improve the quality and quantity of sleep, much of which I follow and do without question. Cool bedroom temperature? Check! No caffeine a couple of hours before bed? You got it! No lights or disturbances? You bet! Kick out husband so you have big bed all to yourself? Absolutely!
But what do you do when those things just aren’t working?
So I am throwing this out there, what advice do you have to ensure a decent night’s sleep?
Any hints, tips and tricks to sleep whilst heavily pregnant and with a cold/extremely sore throat are most welcome.
